I heard you were in New York

I heard you were in New York, and
the parks were painted manic blue
with mythical birds.
My Ithacan home,
regretful seas beyond 
that follow after me
with sounds of war -
with all her parks cathedral choirs 
in crocus blue,
flowers in the snowdrifts all
because of you,
irises too, from near and far,
the spoils of war waged just for you,
my secret star, who leads me to
the ending of my odyssey.

I'm enjoying the tone of the language in this one. (There's a sort of floaty rhapsody to it.) There are a couple cliches and repeated words but they could be cleaned up quite easily. I would probably strike "and" in L1.
