The GST is the most hated tax in Canada and was supposed to be done away with. It still persists today and is one of the most unfair tax's that can be levied against anyone. They have even changed the name on in the eastern part of Canada to HST which includes both PST and GST. The HST is charged on everything period as far as I know. I have yet to buy anything it was not charged on.
It is even charged on childrens candy for crying out loud. You Know those 5 centers that are 8 cents with tax. It is the biggest money grab tax that I can remember and we had no say about it being forced on us.
