To be politically correct, instead of GMT, I should have called it UTC (Coordinated Universal Time)
as this is the agreed upon non-British-centric term for it.  (GMT time = UTC time)

Why UTC instead of CUT?:

UTC came about as a compromise between English and French speakers.

  "Coordinated Universal Time" in English would normally be abbreviated CUT.
  "Temps Universel Coordonné" in French would normally be abbreviated TUC.

Gee, I don't know how anyone could ever find a single part of this even remotely confusing! Pretty straightforward if you ask me.
