Wobbly Spelling

However, sometimes spelling can make all the difference.

I would much rather have a sweet, crumby cookie for dessert than sweat in a crummy desert.  
I may be too demure to apply rouge, but I would demur to apply a rogue.
I would be wealthy if I had a gilded cannon, but bored with a canon guild.
 
Old vs. olde makes no real difference, neither does shop or shoppe. But confuse wretch with retch and you get a wicked mess.

For years I was confused when I heard "Raised to the ground", I presume that it meant "Erased to the ground" but then eventually realised it was "Razed to the ground"
