We used to tie a rope around the front door handle and the other end around the support beam on the porch closest to it. I perfected it so I could get all the slack out of the rope so they could barely open it at all..
I would BAMBAMBAM on the door HARD and run harder but not to worry, they were not opening the door too quickly.

I was a very nice kid.

I hardly ever threw firecrackers into apartment building stair cases while people were sleeping.

And I almost never jammed apartment door bell buttons with broken matches.
