I'm glad you mentioned losers, Leanne. Because it's nice to know that somewhere in the world, though I can't afford to go there, there are women that still think people like me are worth mentioning.
The problem I have with poets these day is that there are too many. Any wisecracking college kid can take a course in creative writing and come out on the positive end of an assembly line. I know poetry as entertainment is just as valid as religion as fiction. But I believe poetry should be just as snobbishly practiced by poets as religion is by monks. By monks in the 13th century. But the real snobby poets are so obsessed with being intellectual and not sounding foolish that they produce only bloodless brain cells. And I for one find brain cells a great hindrance to my art.
