I appreciate the run-through. However, I am on the Novice Poetry Forum, and I can't find the "New Thread" button anywhere. It is not in the same place as the button in the picture you posted.

Hi and welcome. Please read your welcome letter, it explains that you can't post your own work until you're a full member and that doesn't happen until your first three critiques are moderated and approved. Then the New Thread button will appear.

Because that is what it is.

Well, I see oxfordgirl joined up a while ago, her welcome letter may have been before moderated first posts was implemented. You've got one, OG, 2 more critiques in the workshops and you're in, like magic, yanno.

Due to fly tipping (leaving lots of poetry) without giving feedback
elsewhere on the site, we expect poets new and old to attempt to give reasonable feedback on other people's work before posting their own for workshopping (we work on a give and take system).

New members posts will be moderated for a short while. You have to first leave three pieces of reasonable feedback on other people's poems before you can post your own work in the poetry forums

We look forward to workshopping with you.

P.S.  when we say reasonable, we don't mean one line saying wow, this is great. or one line of feedback done simply to get round this rule.

6. For newly registered members; you must first leave acceptable feedback on other people's poems before you will be allowed to post your own poetry. All your posts will be moderated during this probation period. Once you are able to leave 3 pieces of acceptable feedback, then you will be granted wider access to start your own threads and present your work in the the poetry forums for critique.
