The Lion and the Fox an Aesop's Fable
Noble Lion once was served by fox
and lazy Fox was much too smart to hunt
so from a tree he hung a wooden box
then slyly asked for Lion to bait the stunt.
"Invite the Ass to join your royal clan.
When he arrives, I'll trap him. We'll be fed!"
And so they did and all went like the plan
"Now guard him, but don't touch," the Lion said,
"I need to nap when I return we'll eat him."
While he was gone, Fox ate the ass's brain.
When Lion saw this he prepared to beat him.
"Before you do,” said Fox, “let me explain.”
"For you to eat dumb brains would be a waste!"
And Lion wondered how smart brains would taste.
