is this based on a song ray? it's quite haunting. sometimes i console
myself with the fact that though i may not be able to write good poetry,
i can at least read it.

Not any song I can recall. But that doesn't mean
a whole lot since most inspiration comes from the parts of
our mind that we can't consciously access (commonly called
'muse' or 'billy' ). I console myself every time I read a good poem.
I just found a book of Borges' poems and consoled myself
all the way to despair. If our writing depended on favorable
comparisons to what we read, none of us would dare.
