If Christ was in the Kitchen
My mother asked me once – what would you do
if Christ was in your kitchen?
I should be embarrassed
by water spots on the counter
or the towel hung
crooked on the rack.
I thought of this late at night
as I stood by the stainless
steel sink all alone. I suppose
that I would offer him a beer.
