seriously. when you run the mybb on the pc. it's just to show you how a configuration will look. that's the sole purpose of it, otherwise how would you know what it looks like before you put it on a host.

vf is really trying to help benny. that you think it#s okay to run mybb from a pc doesn't mean you're right mate. i'd hate to see dub dubs forum fail before it starts. theres loads of frree hosting sites out there.

do you honestlt think they'd write this;

* You will require a web host to run your forum.
* Your web host must satisfy a few basic requirements for MyBB to run properly.

Actually I had some bad info, but haveing it on your own (PC server) at home is entirly doable.

its hosted by createmybb3.com. a file on a persons pc doesn't have an url so it can't be found on the net.

Yes I found that out last evening...Dub in fact thought it was on his own machine so I was going on that information. I only found out as a result of investigating to download a copy to put on one of my own servers here at home. Which is still something that is possible to do if one wants to by the way. I want to so thats how I am going to do it. It's not cheap and I don't recommend it to anyone unless they have a need as I do to be able in the future to grab the server and physically move it. The point is you do not have to use someone else's server if you do not want to thats all.
