clothed in sin,
I'm off to Sin City.
Bad is how I am,
and my bad
just don't sit pretty.
I'm Reverend Debauched
and my leanings
lead toward,
The expression of
all that is untoward:
which in Sin City,
is just the beginning
of my eternal reward.
Inspired by the Reverend Bill from the Church Of No Shopping!
I suspect that this seasonal offering is related to Christmas shopping and fundamental religious teachings. Commercialism has occluded the meaning of Christmas to a point where the true message is lost. This "tongue in cheek" poem is a warning and a reminder of our pagan, materialistic leanings.
“Do not squander time, life is made of it.”
