crescent cookies look like yours
but one bite reveals
trimmed sugar and butter, the eye fooled
but not the heart

when the cookie of my heart
burns on the baking sheet of your love
will you scrape my bottom
and eat me anyway?

                                                                                                                                all this useless beauty... but what the hell, why not?
