his tongue - contorted - lavishes
the riches of the hills.
On signs the people write
'Python Required'
The valleys rest silent watching him bathe
in his dollar, his dosh, his squalor.
The signs grew weary,
ashamed of their words
and so changed to -
'We Now Accept Birds'
The python grew poorer,
no longer slivered, he squirmed,
For very few jobs require a python,
he learned.
