How like a metal-taloned hand
Your influence upon my mind,
Your rape of arid land, red sand
Inside my head, your thrust unkind.

How like the claw of monstrous bird
Your grip into my naked flesh.
Within my bony frame, interred
My heart is pierced, the wound is fresh.

How hard you try my soul to wrest
From its sweet source, from force of light;
Still, I continue to be blessed
With wholeness you can never blight.

Searched for a nit as is protocol but wasn't able to uncover one. This is written beautifully, caps beginning each line a minor distraction, I assume tht is c/p, happens all the time. Nicely done SF.
