Colours

This door
was once green,
he painted it black.
Occasionally you can spy
the green grinning through
the chips, the dents, the cracks.
It’s due for a repaint;
I think-

Therefore I’ll paint it white.

Todd is right this is a compelling read. I find so many thoughts and paths that progression of the colours presents.
My first read I went down a thought path of a life encompassed / represented by the colours. Green for early life and black (imposed by the hand of another...gone over to white (stay away from the light!)

Subsequent readings give me a picture of someone who has survived a damaging relationship and now (with 're-emerging signs of her old self), is ready to 're-invent themselves.
