people get drunk because most think they can hold their booze, they can't, other get drunk to forget, other are alcoholics though many of these don't seem so drunk. i personally used to like having a good night out and in process drank booze. it loosens up the inhibitions and so you can interact easier, you can get laid, drunk is an effect of booze while some do drink to get drunk for many it a way to let off steam.
