I had never realised this...I've always listened to John betjeman reading it out...and sort of assumed it was his as it seams to be everywhere and I had never heard mention of A E Housman (until I just looked it up). Like I said I do not follow any particular poet as such I just like a wide range of individual poems. So flunk the blond...I'm well used to it..."got it wrong again" will be inscribed on my tomb.

for ages i thought that Plath's "the bell jar" was a poem" mainly because all i'd ever seen of it was excerpts. i was mortified when jack told me it was a book...i've hated him ever since.
