NaPM 2026

...starts in four weeks! The rules will be the same as last year---no form requirements, only participation tiers---though the prompts will have a tighter plan.

I think it’s insane how we’re at NaPM again. The years truly are flying by

Looking forward to giving it a try, what are participation tiers?

I found this:

Bronze Tier: Participate at least once.

Silver Tier: Participate all days.

Gold Tier: Participate all days, and have all entries be the same form or have all entries be different forms.

Cookie, cake, cake and balloons?

Speaking from experience  Blush all-different can feel like a straitjacket by the end of the month.  Save a sonnet form or two!

@busker - Was almost going to try to start a warm-up prompting.  Might we have just one or two, @RiverNotch?  Won't count toward the tiers, otherwise we'd all be left in...   Beg

Oh, I have no intention of counting forms, I'll take anything I'm lucky enough to be gifted with on the day. I'll be shocked if I hit silver. And you all better brace yourselves for some raggedy-ass poems breaking up some of the wonderful days of all top notch stuff I've been reading on the past years' threads.

Hello folk - I won’t be participating this year. NaPM is an American event and right now anything that’s American is anathema for many of us.

Good luck, and fuck Trump and Hegseth and all your cocksuckers in charge

Also celebrated in April in Canada. And we could change its title here. And hopefully you're not believing every American is evil, these were not landslide elections, though the next may be as our elections are being destablized. Allow us at least the pleasure of poetry.

Honestly. Write 30 anti-american poems if it makes you feel better.

I join in hoping @busker will reconsider.  This is good, clean, piggy fun - including the occasional flung mud.  Name it what you will.

Huh? NaPM is a respite from all the BS, and engages your mind in something constructive. It ain't about any Evil Empires, unless you let it be so.

I think yer just chickening out, and using those buttheads as an excuse. To paraphrase the old saying; those who can, do, and those who can't run for office.

c'mon busker, come along for the ride

I never thought of NaPM as a distinctly American thing until gathering this year's prompts either xD We could rebrand by just removing "NaPM" from the threads

If silver was like 15 days then I could aspire to it but 30... I got to work as well sometime

Perhaps we could have a platinum then silver could be like 15 10 days  Thumbsup

Wait, we have to write thirty poems? I though we just get to read 30 of them.

ha, with any luck you'll be reading 300 poems and you don't have to write 30, you get to write 30. I'm going to at least try.

NaPM '26 is going to be a problem for me as I've developed a 'condition' in my right eye which has cut my screentime way down.
I'll see what I can do... Cool

I don’t use them but maybe voice to text programs may help.

Also most communities have programs or foundations that help figure out what would help most for your specific situation.
