Hey Paul-

I have a great appreciation for poems that are in the moment, frozen in time. 

I have gazed upon the crescent moon many, many times, but have never seen a banana.. until now.

for all us monkeys  we have been staring at that banana for eons, and I do wonder what our primitive brains made of it.

Sometimes it seems so close that you can almost reach out and peel it.

Hey Mark,

Not sure how we saw the same moon (Tiger and I) since we are significantly separated in space, but that night (here) it was cloudy and the crescent had a distinct yellowish tint to it.

Hey Tim-

The phase of the moon will be the same, and appear approximately the same across the world (adjusting for latitude).

My guess is that this observation was made during that "golden hour" near sunset when the sun shining through the atmoshere makes the moon appear larger and yellower.  This year, at any time of night, with all the wildfires around the world, high altitude smoke could be a factor, as well.

(I also like the gigantic full moon sinking on the horizon as the sun rises in summer.)

All that said, I find these observations fascinating.  So, thanks again Paul.

Thanks for the read guys. It was indeed giant and yellow. A lesser ape might have attempted to reach up and grab it. Mark is likely right about the "golden hour." It was past sunset but not long. I posted it around 10 so my initial view was probably between 8:30 and 9:30 - so it makes sense.
I used crafty because it looked like an elaborate trap... a worm dangling on an invisible hook.

I never thought of the crescent moon as a banana before, but it's big, curved, and spotted, so why not?
