Thanks for doing this, Quix!

Failed Ritual

The hum of millstones swell
as I herd the lambs to slaughter,
the grinding rocks blind my ears
to the victims savage bleats,
shielding the heavenly joy of rosemary shank
from sacrifice's bloody trauma.

I cherish the infinite,
but every sacred moon begets
the same broken oath: passion will be my eternity.

Pieces of You

The cruel face
of the moon
stares down
a bloody wound
in infinite sky

I empty my pockets
of grief and the burden
of shared stories to strain
moments from forever

Friendship is savage
karma, a mutual
oblivion. Alone
I cannot remain
the same person

Guilt is the chain
I fasten
to your body
so that I too
may drown

In the icy dark
of these woods
each new sacrifice
spreads branches
against the light

I tremble
float above the grave
trees. I was blind
No one ever survives
loss

Car seat altar

She only asked him to put out
a burning bush and come down
from his sacred mountain,
he slid into the car a blind victim
and glanced into the back
at his baby seat burden.

This savage God slammed a hand
into a dashboard slaughter
and chose his sacrifice, shattering
her jaw with what he later
claimed to be his passion.

The bloody hospital cried "miracle"
that the millstone hadn't
crushed her skull, the real wound
was weak with worry, a fool for her
small puppy who couldn't fight the
emptiness despite the loathing.

Karma came in her fathers hand
a baseball bat of blunt traumas.

If your undies fer you've been smoking through em, don't peg em out

Ninth Transit of Venus

This tortured night a millstone moon grinds out
one trillion stars upon oblivion;
through their dim dust daredevil you dive deep
into whatever cruel torture hugs
your passion of the moment shattering
this puppy slave to cherish crazy joy
and longing for your venomous return
hotheaded body panting for relief
by mistress dripping cool eternity.

cherish, crazy, cruel, daredevil, eternity, hotheaded, hugs, joy, millstone, moon, oblivion, passion, puppy, shattering, slave, torture, venomous

bonus poem:  transpose "oblivion" and "eternity"
