                                                        IISZ 2018 Challenge #7

There are poems with letter-groupings that are probably nonsense but are used
in a way that makes you unsure... maybe they're just words you don't know...
there are certainly enough of those.

Lewis Carroll’s famous Jabberwocky certainly seems to have lots, but a few
were actual words and others have become ones since:

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
                All mimsy were the borogoves,
                And the mome raths outgrabe.

                ... etc.

So the challenge is to write a poem or prose that uses 2 (and hopefully more)
letter-groupings that are probably nonsense but either seem to make sense
or are, what the hell, just ridiculously bizarre.

Extra points for slipping in a real word that's obscure enough to fool us in reverse.

(Tip on making it easier to come up with the non-word, letter-groupings:
Take a real word that fits your poem, look it up here in Thesaurus.com,
and combine the front and back of two of its likely-looking synonyms.)

                And, as always:
                    - You can write and post as many entries as you want.
                    - Comments are loved, encouraged, and have magical healing powers.

--> Challenge #8 will now be posted on Saturday, February 3rd.

Gnomenclature

A gnome stood on the burning dreck
whence all but he had lightly scarped;
his memisum had lost its feck
while dread agnosia’s tremens harped.

O!  Silicone, oh silisphere,
oh silipolygon of woe—
to stand complicent, void of fear,
where scented agnels dared not go!

His nose of gnome, once pregrammed to
detect faint clues of winch or wench,
still blastered what had launched his crew:
dreck’s burning, eyeful, viscous stench.

But our poor gnome, connections gone,
addressitable inaccessed,
could not interpret dreckish flawn
with standrads he had once possessed.

He snuffed: his nose began to bleed,
he felt the wet, he saw the flood...
but smitting with agnosia freed
him of all flightful fears of blood.

His nose fell off, and then his head;
his eyes looked up and skoaled the sky
disunderstanding he was dead,
agnosiac, too gnum to die.

You Cry Them Nymph Yarns

Don’t provise me of mirlish pitpats,
or jack-o’-gourd hackbabs.
I am no relbers-bristuft plebe
crint from the fleltling.
Who peep the brin,
but not the ivories.

For the openmost quinary zenoch
of my snoopor,
your enunciators were cognate
the munchpate
of rodsels roop my chaise,
the cravishment of murkshade
that every cubtot fathoms
so like nightworms:
so rimsleet, so malsilver-pecked.

I have seen the kilnheat inside
your bonfection cubby pad,
frisk my cavisera puffish
with the fruitination of this pulchritude.

You scrapernate your ribbon light on puff fancies,
these shadow scrapings on my wall.
There are no glad ends.

Your soft wrappings
are the puncture
the prick
of my spreder,
the dripping
on my gowntog.
The secret of poetry is cruelty.--Jon Anderson

Doctrine of Signatures

Toggle-flippers and hissy-fits
are on the loose;

long-sleeved Nehrus,
with pretenses of fartingale
all done in chintz or flax
tied in the back
show little genuflection,
causing fidgeting fuss.

Beauregard fetches
scraggy scrapple
as a queen squints,
"druther's druggists
paint dizzy dithers
dishing out debauchery!"

Smiles of charity choose
these forms of flight,
frustrating the Veils of Babushka,
tippets smeared in hints of bacchivorous blue.

Again made safe from the havoc of hellbent gewgaws.

...I see I did it wrong.
But at least I squeezed out something needed.

informed consent

exfishion of your pancreatic cancer
and the crabs that might surflound it
in nests of swulgy nodes
is our boldly hope,
and your blast straw.

per plexperts it is wisely eccepted
that the mortability is apoplectable
with expenses as low as 10 blurred cents
in statistic over-rations.

brandomized bubble-blinded lials
have blown up a bendefit
of eradical therapy, which, of course,
you will underestimatably
consent to, am i bright?

see, with an expositive attitude
(and you can be secursed of ours)
you´ll count yourshell

any questions?

i think i changed this about 6 times now, hope that´s not against rules

This reminded me of Tom Robbins, and how much I need to go back and reread Still Life with Woodpecker. Thanks  Thumbsup

nibbed, there´s nothing wrong with either of your answers i think, to the contrary (and squeezing out needed things is always a good thing). "soon to end mirth" is a clever line.

todd, i think i really like the nymph yarns, though i probably lack the vocabulary to recognize some of the originals/ similes.

tiger: conflinching .. this should be a real word. oh, wait, it is now : )
(i bought the woodpecker, to read at some point later)
