I saw the movie schizopolis in a store once and hid it under the shelf so no one would buy it before I came back with money, I forgot to go back.

this poem holds suspicion,
like me...motive isn't always
enough, because innocence
may appear to have motive
there's always a better reason to love

In only 3 lines you set up a really good story. The mystery which you convey in this poem is really well done.

Motive

“FOR SALE” sign face-down ~ I like the squiggly line here- It creates a sense of tension.
laid low by spring gale -Spring gale is very nice and vivid
or crafty early bidder? You successfully mix humour and mystery in this last line. Does this 'early bidder' not want other people to find out about the thing for sale? If so, you effectively evoke greed as well in this poem

Was standing in back of you, bought it right after you left.  Good movie.
