what do you think of them. (and no we won't be having one here)
on forums. usually the home page. personally i hate them and find them to be counterproductive. i see them on many sites though.

i agree. you often get mods using them to discuss things as well.
i just can't see a use for them.

It's meant to be a "shout" box.

People end up having conversations in there
#4
what about the forum with added bells and whistles.
the arcades etc. i see lots of people interested in those but i'm personally
not into it.
#5
no. It's just writing in capitals

LOOK I CAN DO THAT TOO. Tongue.

I saw the other a forum with an IRC feature included ( a bit like shout box but more developed :o )

I allready have 1 shoutbox....don't need another.Confused
#7
i guess the irc channels could work but even them.
do they actually serve a purpose?
everyone in them is talking about everyone else behind their backs in private talks lmao.
#8
Ya, cowards, pretty much all of them. Your normal shit slingers. Not much for irc channel's myself. They certainly do nothing for posting in the forums. If the site goes down there's a place to get in touch is about the best bullshit excuse i have heard for them to be used. Must be something wrong with windows live hotmail or yahoo. It's not like we are discussing anything that's actually worth someone stealing and selling for big bucks so security is a bit of, no a lot of horse shit from a lot of big feeling nobody's. JMO

i see you can instant reaction there but oftem people are in private chats so much that when someone asks or says something no one responds cos they're all in private chat Tongue

Shout Boxes..
They do serve a purpose; for quick info exchange as an example.
They are good for real time insult flinging to.. Benny and I would have a field day a week ago.

Arcades...
That would be cool..

cool but not happening lol.
and you just made my point. insult should be in the sewer where they belong or in a poem where they can be expressed. in a public shoutbox insults are merely insulting Tongue

I am only allowed that luxury in the sewer. That may change as the membership grows to a point where my doing that may be frowned upon. Shout box is out sorry. Smile

nope. the sewer will always be the sewer and everyone will have that luxury there. everyone will also bear the brunt of any repercussions without any help as such from mods :p
in there we're all on our own. Smile

Oh and btw you dont need irc for that when you have a pm system at the forum, but then again that is a load on the forum server, so why not take it out on msn?

As far as irc goes its a beautiful lo-tek way of communicating live - you can do it from a 1980ties pc in command line. The question you need to ask yourselves is why does msn (and shoutbox) eat up that many resources when the functinality is basically the same???
yep i agrre.

though i think irc take people away from posting in the forums some of the times.

@ scrufuss.

dead horses are always worth flogging. Smile
