I thought this would be a poem about sailing - 'cat's paws' is the name we give to small gusts of wind ... but I like your response to the dawn-breakers too.

This girlfriend of mine -- back when -- had a Pacific Cat.
We'd sail the damn thing anywhere.
(You can do things on a bridge you can only dream of in a monohull.)

Yes, those little cat feet have been around for about 80 years (Sandburg).
But rosy-fingered just gotta take some sort of cake for epithets; it's been around for
about 3000 years (Homer). And just for reference: The Kalashnikov AK comes in at a
little less than 70 (Mikhail Kalashnikov).
